The Ithaca Ballet, founded in 1961, is Upstate New York's only repertory company and the resident ballet company at the State Theatre. The ballet is a pre-professional ensemble corps, having a varied repertoire of classical and contemporary works.

The Ithaca Ballet presents its annual showcase of contemporary works, including the world premiere of Byron Suber's
basic black and baby blue etudes
This pyrotechnically dazzling piece is set to music by Prokofiev.

Other pieces include a revival of Larry Brantley's Trip-Tic and Tilyou's Revenge; the pas de deux from Romeo & Juliet; and the beautiful neoclassical ballet, Barcarola Veneciana.
