COVID-19  PROTOCOL  for Ballet Center of Ithaca

As the health and welfare of our entire community remain our priority, Ballet Center of Ithaca has put in place the following protocols. Please note that these guidelines are subject to change as we follow the rise and fall of cases. We continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC, TCHD and Cornell University. 

Face Coverings:

  • At this time, face coverings are OPTIONAL inside the Ballet Center.

Hygiene:

  • All individuals must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before and after each class and rehearsal.

Studio Precautions:

  • Studios will be frequently disinfected including barres, sounds systems, door handles, railings, and bathrooms.

  • Air filters and fans will continue to run.

Health Safety: 

  • To keep our studio healthy, students cannot attend class if they demonstrate any symptoms associated with an active illness. Antigen tests are readily available and individuals are expected to test when showing signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19 infection.

If you test positive:

  • Contact school director (Cindy Reid, Creid5@twcny.rr.com) to let her know.

  • The Ballet Center of Ithaca will maintain the confidentiality and privacy of any student who tests positive.  

  • If a student or faculty member has had COVID-19, they will need to follow CDC guidelines on return protocol. 

Return to Studio Policy:

  • Current CDC guidelines state that one can end isolation after day 5 if:

    • Fever free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication)Symptoms are improving

  • Continue to wear a mask through day 10. 

OR

  • With two sequential negative tests 48 hours apart, you may remove your mask sooner than day 10.

Performance Safety Guidelines:

  • Prior to each performance, performance safety guidelines will be determined and communicated in adherence to state and county guidelines as well as individual performance venue guidelines.
